VOX Books are an all-in-one audio book experience for young readers. No devices, batteries or CDs – just press a button alongside the cover of the picture book and a narrator begins to read the story to you. These books are great for audio learners, reluctant readers, and those learning English or with learning disabilities. VOX books they are a valuable, accessible tool designed for blind, visually impaired, and print-disabled children, as well as emergent readers.\n\nChildren from birth onward will have the ability to listen as a narrator reads each word of the story and alerts them to turn the page from an engaging sound. VOX Books offer the opportunity for parents and caregivers to give some independence to their young readers as they will be able to navigate the story on their own. For those caregivers and parents still reading alongside their young children, VOX Books offers the opportunity to pause the narrations so that parents can engage their young readers with questions and vocabulary from the story.\n\nVox Books offer a great option to boost reading engagement and development for our school community and we don't currently have any in our library collection.\n\nAccording to the National Literacy Trust benefits of using audio books include:\n\n- an increased access to books (especially ones that may be at a higher reading level)\n- a deeper understanding of tone, pronunciation, accents and dialects\n- development of language comprehension equal to reading a print book\n- supports emotional intelligence development\n- helps parents share stories with their children","goal":300,"image":"https://fastly.picsum.photos/id/189/400/300.jpg?hmac=pjqZRSJg989Ln0vAYaJSDOfn_5QemhhrFDfFPGHHFqs","is_open":true,"date_created":"2026-02-11T09:14:54.131867Z"},{"id":69,"owner":101,"total_raised":850.0,"title":"Acacia Ridge Readers Club","description":"Acacia Ridge SS is very proud of the after school reading program and we're seeking new literary resources for our junior school reading programs. My name is Matilda Wormwood and I'm 7 years old. I absolutely love reading. I've already read lots of books from the library, and I want to keep learning and exploring new stories. Books teach me about everything—science, adventure, faraway places, and how to solve problems. It's my birthday coming up and my greatest wish is new books. My lovely teacher Miss Honey recommended I use this site to ask for help to receive books so I can continue reading and learning. I think every book opens up a new world, and I promise to treasure each one and read it many times. If you can help me get books, I would be so grateful. Reading is the most important thing in the world to me. Thank you for considering helping a young reader follow her dreams.","goal":100,"image":"https://fastly.picsum.photos/id/65/400/300.jpg?hmac=i9VY1_fjDnqSC7tBrv3vzj7KphQTIfAy0zjQcYTJR1s","is_open":false,"date_created":"2025-12-06T02:52:04.319927Z"},{"id":71,"owner":41,"total_raised":170.0,"title":"Coolum SS Legacy Gift 26","description":"As the Year 6 Class of 2026 commence the year they're already preparing how they want to leave behind something special—a gift that will inspire learning and imagination for years to come. In 2026 we're fundraising to expand our collection for all readers including:\n- Decodable Books: Designed with phonics principles, especially great for new readers or to help readers with dyslexia.\n- Hi-Lo Books: High-interest, low-reading-level books, which use simpler vocabulary and shorter, clear text. Again, great for our early stage readers building confidence in sentences and longer form text passages.\n- Audiobooks (Human Voice): A great option for read-alongs which inspires independence in reading. The human voice is essential for listeners who struggle with computer-generated text. \n- Braille/Large Print: A necessity for our inclusive collection particularly valuable for learners with visual impairments. \n\nPages for Progress also includes Auslan memberships for any student who is ready to begin learning Auslan Signbank as part of our literacy and community connection project.
